This song’s composition is very atypical for a SOAD song; definitely not metal, and hardly rock. Additionally, the lyrics are considerably more literal (less Dadaist) than the rest

Serj Tankian's 'Elasticity' EP
|
Hey everyone! So today, Serj Tankian dropped his not-very-long awaited solo EP ‘Elasticity’, which he described as unfinished SOAD tracks that he revamped for his own solo output. So, if you haven’t checked it out yet, go ahead! It’s only five songs and roughly twenty minutes. If you have listened to it, what do you thought about it?
Personally, I liked the EP! I can’t really say anything bad about it. It’s just five songs of what Serj has been doing for the past few years. ‘Your Mom’ is a really standout song, despite its immature title. ‘How Many Times’ and ‘Rumi’ are more ballad-like songs. The title track, as well as ‘Electric Yerevan’ are really bouncy, with that typical Serj energy. Is this anything new for Serj? Not really. Will it draw new fans, or maybe change a hater’s mind? Also not really. This EP is just five really good songs, and I’m fine with that.
